FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

This page will provide the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, contact us!

About us

1. Do you work on behalf of universities?

No, we are not university agents. Omni Admissions forms part of International ACAC, and is a registered UCAS Centre. This means that we do not accept commissions from universities or other higher education bodies, as our only goal is to identify the best possible academic path for each student.

2. What is the difference between Omni Admissions and Omni Tutoring?

Omni Admissions provides educational consulting services, from university orientation and programme selection to the strategic management of applications. Students working with Omni Admissions are guided by a consultant who coordinates their programme and supports them throughout the different stages of the application process.

Omni Tutoring, founded by Omni Admissions, provides academic support for IB, IGCSE, A-Level and university subjects; preparation for undergraduate admissions tests, including the SAT, ACT, Bocconi Test, TOLC, TMUA and LNAT, and postgraduate admissions tests, including the GMAT, GRE and ieGAT; as well as coaching on specific elements of an application, such as CVs, essays and interviews. In this case, the student works directly with the tutor or coach on the service requested, without the strategic coordination of a consultant.

As Omni Tutoring is based in the UK, its fees are quoted in GBP, while Omni Admissions fees are quoted in EUR.

3. Who is Omni Admissions?

Omni Admissions is a company of around twelve people, founded by Anna Maria Padula and Marcella Turazza. You can find more information about the Omni Admissions staff on the company website’s Team page. As well as the permanent staff, Omni Admissions collaborates regularly with a network of around thirty writing coaches. In addition, we also collaborate with specialised consultants for student athletes.

Services

1. What does an Omni Admissions consultancy package consist of?

Every student has different goals, aspirations and needs. This is why our consulting services are entirely personalised. Following an initial telephone consultation, we identify the most appropriate Essential or Premium orientation service and develop an application strategy consistent with the student’s profile.

Depending on the level of support required, the student may then choose to be guided by Omni Admissions throughout the entire application process or proceed independently using the recommendations and tools provided during the orientation stage. They may also use Omni Tutoring for specific services, including academic support, test preparation, CV review, writing coaching and interview preparation.

2. Who helps the student with the essays to write for the application process?

Each student is supported by a Writing Coach with specific expertise in the relevant type of application. Our support team continuously monitors the work completed by the student and the Writing Coach. Once the coaching process is complete, Omni Admissions carefully proofreads the final material.

3. Who are the writing coaches?

Our Writing Coaches are native English speakers and/or have studied, or are currently studying, at some of the world’s leading universities. They have an excellent understanding of the different university application processes, and many specialise in a particular subject area or type of application. Each student is therefore matched with the Writing Coach whose profile most closely reflects their application goals.

4. How do you know which university is most suitable for a student?

Omni Admissions carries out a detailed assessment of the academic and extra-curricular profile of the student. To this end, the student must supply his/her most recent school reports, and a CV (if available), as well as completing a specific form. On the basis of all this information and a decade of experience in the field, Omni Admissions matches the most appropriate university to the student, taking into accounts the student’s goals and each university’s requirements.

5. Which service do you offer for those who have not yet decided what to study at university?

For students who have not yet clearly identified their preferred university pathway, Omni Admissions offers Essential and Premium orientation services designed to meet different needs.

Essential services are suitable for students seeking targeted support with a specific request, such as identifying the most appropriate field of study or developing a shortlist of programmes and universities consistent with their profile.

Premium services offer broader and more strategic orientation, beginning with an analysis of the student’s aptitudes, interests and objectives and culminating in the development of a comprehensive academic plan. The service includes an online psychometric assessment, either Omni Future in Italian or the Morrisby Test in English, a dedicated consultation, a personalised report, a University List featuring approximately 20 programmes and an Action Plan containing recommendations and details of the next steps.

6. Do you help secondary school students to organise a year abroad?

No. Regarding secondary schools, we deal only with applications for boarding schools in the UK or USA for the last two years of school, for those students who wish to enrich their academic profile for university applications.

7. Which is the best time to sign up for an OA consultancy session?

Well, this depends on the student’s goals. For the choice of undergraduate course, the ideal window for university-focused consultancy changes greatly according to the country and programme selected. Students who wish to study in the United States need to begin their preparation at least two years before the application is made. Meanwhile, a student who wishes to study in Europe or the United Kingdom should begin making preparations in the second half of the penultimate year of school. These timetables can change greatly according to the needs and requirements of each student. If, on the other hand, the student intends to apply for a Master’s degree, we recommend contacting Omni Admissions in the second semester of the penultimate year of an undergraduate course.

8. What assistance is included in your application process service?

Students seeking comprehensive support throughout the application process are assigned an Omni Admissions consultant who guides them through every stage. Omni Admissions prepares a personalised proposal based on each student’s needs and goals, setting out all the services included in detail. These may include the creation of an extensive college list; support in defining a shortlist of universities, where needed; assistance with completing universities’ online application portals; support from a Writing Coach in preparing motivation letters; CV review; and preparation for any interviews.

For further information or to request a quote for our services, please email info@omniadmissions.com.

9. Who will guide my son/daughter through the application process?

Each student is flanked for the entire consultancy period by an Education Programs Assistance who in turn refers to Anna Maria Padula or Marcella Turazza, who supervise the entire process and intervene personally in strategic or key moments of the application.

10. Will Omni Admissions manage contact with the university or school to which the student applies?

Certainly, the staff member flanking the student will be responsible for contacting the university selected for any necessary clarification on the application process. However, there may be specific cases in which the university explicitly requests that they be contacted by the student or parent. In this event, Omni Admissions will still assist the student and family, advising on the method and content of communication.

11. Do you also handle scholarship applications?

Scholarships have different requirements depending on the country, university and individual programme. If requested, as part of the application programme and for an additional fee, Omni Admissions can support students in identifying suitable opportunities and completing the relevant application procedures.

12. How many of your students are accepted onto the university courses they apply for?

All our students receive a certain number of offers proportional to the number of applications made. This is possible thanks to in-depth assessment and matching of the student profile with the university requirements. Also, Omni Admissions always advises its students to prepare a strong back-up plan so that everyone can expect offers that fully respond to their demands.

13. In which languages can you assist students?

Italian and English.

14. Is preparation for admission tests included in your services?

No. For tutoring services, we advise students to contact our specialist company, Omni Tutoring.
